Process
After a risk analysis, the need for armed duty is determined and an application is made to the competent authority (the governorate). Armed duty does not begin without a permit. Officers meet shooting proficiency, medical report and periodic training requirements.
Weapon and security procedures
Weapon, ammunition and issue records are strictly maintained; a count and handover record is drawn up at each shift change. A written use instruction exists for every site.
